Charity Navigator Awards Four-Star Rating

We have great news! Charity Navigator has awarded Montana Council a coveted four-star rating – the highest rating possible – for demonstrating strong financial health and commitment as a nonprofit.

Receiving four out of a possible four stars signifies that Montana Council “adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way.”

Charity Navigator is America’s premier independent charity evaluator, helping charitable givers make intelligent giving decisions by providing in-depth, objective ratings and analysis of the financial health and accountability and transparency of America’s largest charities.

In a letter from Charity Navigator, President and CEO Michael Thatcher writes:

“We are proud to announce that your organization has earned a 4-star rating. This is our highest possible rating and indicates that your organization adheres to sector best practices and executes its mission in a financially efficient way. Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that Boy Scouts of America, Montana Council exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in your area of work. This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets Boy Scouts of America, Montana Council apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness. Approximately only a quarter of rated charities have achieved this distinction!”

Montana Council is delighted that our hard work to be a financially healthy organization with a commitment to accountability and transparency is being recognized.
