2009 Montana Council Wood Badge for the 21st Century

EVERY SCOUT DESERVES A WELL TRAINED LEADER

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Wood Badge for the 21st Century is for all registered Scout leaders.  It has been developed for Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, Venturing leaders, Sponsoring Organization Representatives, and Professional Scouters,  as well as Council and District leaders. The course focus is on leadership, not just outdoor skills.

WOOD BADGE CONSISTS OF TWO PARTS

Wood Badge consists of two parts:

The first part is a two-weekend experience, living with a group of Scouters in an indoor/outdoor environment.  Through the weekend experience, each participant will develop the knowledge and understanding of the skills brought forth.

During the second part, which follows the two-weekend experience, participants will work on a set of goals that they developed for themselves during the indoor/ outdoor portion of the course.  They have a maximum of 18 months to complete these goals.  Upon successful completion of these goals, Scouters will be awarded their certification, beads, neckerchief and woggle.

The course includes training materials, wonderful meals, and beautiful scenery landscapes in Montana!  The course is FUN as we mix classroom learning with games and activities that reinforce the teaching sessions.

Many employers will provide time off and/or payment of fees for this professional training.  In other venues, this training can be well over $1,000.  Check with either Course Director for a letter to provide to your employer. The total fee for this course is only $275. Save your spot now for only 48 participants will be able to enroll.

WHY WAIT . . . INVEST IN YOURSELF TODAY!

     Cub Scout Program

Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings.

Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy's sense of belonging.
